How much does IRPF change by region?
Income tax in Spain has two halves: a state scale, the same nationwide, and a regional scale set by each community. So with the same income, your take-home can vary from one region to another: some apply lower rates in the middle brackets, others higher.
For middle incomes the difference is usually a few hundred euros a year; at higher incomes it can widen, because that's where regional scales diverge most. This comparison uses all 17 common-regime scales verified against the AEAT Renta manual, so it reflects real differences, not approximations.
We exclude País Vasco and Navarra because they have a foral regime: their income tax is entirely their own and isn't calculated from the state scale.
